Updated: Dec 28, 2025

As The Cat Care Co. continues to grow, we’ve made a few important updates to how we operate. These include the introduction of a new Lead Cat Sitter covering the SK14, SK16, M34 and M43 areas from March 2026, as well as additional Cover Cat Sitters to ensure consistency during time off and high-demand periods.

Please take a few moments to read through the information below, as it explains how these updates may affect your bookings going forward.

Our Team Structure

Over the past year, a small number of self-employed sitters supported the business during particularly busy periods. As demand continued to increase, it became clear that a more structured and permanent solution was needed — with payrolled staff in clearly defined roles.

From March 2026, The Cat Care Co. will have two Lead Cat Sitters, each responsible for specific areas.

This structure means you’ll always know who is responsible for caring for your cats, while our team has clear expectations around when and where they’re working. That clarity on both sides helps reduce last-minute changes and supports a reliable, consistent service.

Your Lead Cat Sitters

  • Sheree — OL1–OL9, M35 and SK15

  • Lorraine — SK14, SK16, M34 and M43

Lead Cat Sitters work Monday to Saturday and carry out cat visits, welcome meetings, and key collections within their designated locations. They have access to our company WhatsApp and Pet Sitter Dashboard, allowing them to send visit reports, access care notes, and be contacted directly while caring for your cats.

Sheree will always remain available to support when needed, giving clients peace of mind through both a dedicated Lead Cat Sitter and ongoing business-owner oversight.

Cover Cat Sitters – Continuity of Care

Alongside our Lead Cat Sitters, we also have a team of Cover Cat Sitters. These sitters primarily work on Sundays, and also provide cover during holidays, sickness, or periods of particularly high demand.

Their role is to ensure continuity of care — so visits can still go ahead even when your usual Lead Cat Sitter is unavailable, and your cat’s routine is maintained.

Cover Cat Sitter Structure

  • TBC — OL1–OL4, OL8, OL9 and M35

  • Natalie — OL5, OL6, OL7 and SK15

  • TBC — SK14, SK16, M34 and M43

All Cover Cat Sitters work closely with the Lead Cat Sitters to ensure care notes, routines, and preferences are followed consistently.

All new team members have been recruited through a thorough, multi-stage process, including interviews, assessments, DBS checks, and references. They’re currently completing training and onboarding (which is why not all names have been released yet), and will only work independently once they’re fully confident and familiar with our standards, systems, and your cats’ care routines.

Meeting Your New Lead Cat Sitter

If you live in SK14, SK16, M34 or M43 and we already hold a key for you, there are two options for introducing your new sitter from March 2026:

  • Meet them in person at your home, allowing you to say hello and show them the ropes. A £5 charge will be added to your invoice to cover travel time.

  • Sheree can attend their first visit with them to ensure a smooth handover. This option is free of charge.

If we don’t yet hold your key, you’ll naturally have the opportunity to meet them when they collect it.

Key Handling Update

Many clients are already familiar with our Key Client scheme, which offers 10% off all bookings in return for us securely holding a copy of your key.

Previously, some clients delivered keys directly to Sheree’s home. As we now operate with a wider team, this is no longer possible, as we’re unable to share individual staff home addresses due to GDPR.

Going forward, the only ways to access the Key Client discount are to:

  • Allow us to retain a copy of your key securely, or

  • Store your key safely at your property (for example, in a lock box or secure key safe)

Key Collection Charge

For clients who choose not to join the Key Client scheme, a £5 key collection fee will apply where a key needs to be collected.

This fee does not apply to welcome visits for new clients and simply helps cover staff travel time and fuel when collecting keys.

Visit Times – Small Update

There has been a small change to our visit time windows.

  • Morning visits: 5:30am – 10:30am

  • Evening visits: 3:00pm – 8:30pm

This gives us greater flexibility around traffic, school runs, and rush hour, helping ensure all visits are completed safely and within the promised timeframe — particularly on busy days.

Extended Visits

Due to route planning and travel time, each Lead Cat Sitter can accommodate one extended visit (45 or 60 minutes) per morning and per evening.

This helps prevent sitters from being rushed between appointments and ensures all clients are reached within the agreed time windows.

If an extended visit slot has already been allocated, we’ll always discuss alternative options with you.

Lunchtime Visits & Three Visits Per Day

We’re no longer able to offer lunchtime visits or three visits per day. This ensures staff have adequate rest time between morning and evening rounds and helps us remain compliant with working time regulations.

It may also be reassuring to know that cats naturally sleep for large portions of the day, and in most cases, two well-spaced visits provide more than enough care and interaction. Where an additional meal is needed, a timed feeder can be offered as a practical and affordable alternative.

Festive Period Care (from 2026)

The festive period is one of our busiest times of the year, and we’re making a few adjustments to ensure we can continue providing care while also allowing staff time with their families.

On the following days:

  • Christmas Eve

  • Christmas Day (double time)

  • Boxing Day (double time)

  • New Year’s Eve

  • New Year’s Day (double time)

we’ll offer one 15-minute morning visit per day only. Double-time rates apply on Christmas Day, Boxing Day, and New Year’s Day.

We’ll also operate a rota system so that staff have either the Christmas period or the New Year period off each year, alternating annually. This helps us balance excellent care with staff wellbeing.

Where needed, we can also provide timed feeders and/or additional litter trays to support your cat’s routine during this period (charges may apply).

Pricing Reminder

Earlier in 2025, we shared details of our pricing changes. Our prices reflect not only the time spent caring for your cats, but also travel time, training, insurance, and our commitment to paying staff fairly — something we believe is essential for reliable, consistent care.

  • Up to 15 minutes – £10

  • 30 minutes – £14

  • 45 minutes – £18

  • 60 minutes – £22

  • Key collection – £5

  • Timed feeder hire – £1 per day

A 20% deposit is required within 7 days of booking, with the remaining balance due the day before care begins.

Social Media

As our client base has grown, it’s no longer possible to feature every cat on our social media pages. To keep this manageable, we’ll now focus mainly on sharing posts about new clients.

This doesn’t reflect how much we value our regular clients — it simply allows us to balance social media with the hands-on care your cats receive every day.

A Final Word

All of these changes are designed to ensure The Cat Care Co. can continue delivering safe, consistent, and professional care as we grow — without compromising on welfare, reliability, or staff wellbeing.

Sheree will continue to manage all bookings, invoicing, and enquiries, as well as social media, and will always be available to support when needed.

Thank you, as always, for your trust and understanding.
