Founded by Sheree in 2023, The Cat Care Co. began as a small side project driven by a genuine love of cats and a desire to offer something more personal than standard pet sitting. With a background in business and corporate administration, Sheree saw an opportunity to bring greater structure, professionalism, and transparency to an industry where these things were sometimes lacking.

From the beginning, this meant introducing clear branding, transparent pricing, visible availability calendars, and the use of a dedicated app to manage bookings, invoices, payments, pet care information, and send daily visit reports. It also meant offering professional welcome visits, where we sit down with every new client before care begins to discuss routines, security, and exactly how their cat likes things done. Clients also receive a handy welcome pack, containing useful information about our services, key procedures, contact details, and everything they need to feel fully prepared and reassured ahead of their care starting.

What started modestly grew quickly through word of mouth and trust. In 2025, Sheree left corporate life behind to run The Cat Care Co. full-time, and by 2026 the business had grown to a team of five payrolled staff members supporting clients across Oldham and Tameside.

We know every cat is different. Some want fuss and playtime, some prefer quiet company, and some simply like their meals served on time with minimal conversation. This is why we offer a variety of visit options tailored to your cat’s personality and routine, so they receive care in a way that feels comfortable and stress-free.

As attitudes towards pets have evolved, more people now recognise that animals have emotions, routines, and preferences of their own. Cats in particular are highly territorial creatures who often feel safest in their own familiar environment. Because of this, many owners now choose home visits over the once-standard cattery experience, avoiding the stress that travel, unfamiliar surroundings, and sudden routine changes can cause. After all, holidays should begin with peace of mind — not a battle with the cat carrier!

We also believe professional pet care should remain accessible and fairly priced. We aim to keep our prices competitive with many smaller hobby sitters, while also recognising the real costs of running a professional service responsibly — including fair staff wages, travel time, mileage, insurance, training, and all applicable taxes. This allows us to offer genuine value without compromising on standards, reliability, or the quality of care your pets receive.
