When you're trusting someone to care for your cat and your home while you're away, price will naturally form part of your considerations.
At The Cat Care Co, our visit prices are:
15 minutes — £12
30 minutes — £16
45 minutes — £20
60 minutes — £24
Could you find a cheaper service elsewhere? Probably.
There are lots of different pet-sitting services out there, from full-time professional businesses to hobby sitters, part-time sitters and dog walkers who also offer cat sitting. And there's absolutely nothing wrong with that. Different services suit different people.
When you book The Cat Care Co, what you're paying for isn't simply the amount of time we spend inside your home. It's the whole service that sits behind those visits.
So, why do we charge what we do?
A 15-minute visit doesn't mean our team member only spends 15 minutes working. They have to drive to you, carry out the visit and then travel on to their next booking. We pay our team for that driving time and cover their fuel and travel costs.
Our sitters are also properly employed members of our team, with guaranteed contracted hours. We pay their tax, National Insurance, pension contributions and holiday pay. And when a team member goes on holiday, they still receive their holiday pay while another member of our team is paid to cover their visits. So the price of your visit isn't simply paying for 15, 30, 45 or 60 minutes inside your home. It's paying for the people, time, travel and infrastructure required to provide that service reliably.
And what do you get for that?
You're not relying on just one person. Our staff members are contractually committed to the hours and visits they've agreed to undertake, but we also have a team behind them if something unexpected happens. Nobody can guarantee they'll never be ill or have an emergency. What we can do is make sure there's a plan when it does.
We've also invested heavily in the systems that support our service, including our app-based system, online booking, availability calendar and detailed care records. We provide written and video care notes, so if another member of our team needs to visit, they have the information they need to understand your cat, their routine and exactly what they need. We can also mix and match visit lengths to create a bespoke service around your cats, and offer timed-feeder support where appropriate. And after every visit, we send you an update, so you know your cat has been seen and cared for.
Why does all of that matter?
Because we've all heard the horror stories....The sitter who doesn't turn up....The person who pops in once, leaves loads of biscuits and then doesn't return.....The filthy litter tray.....The house left in a state.....Or the sitter who becomes ill, leaving an owner hundreds of miles away wondering how their cat is going to be cared for.
We don't want you spending your holiday worrying about any of those things. That's why we've built The Cat Care Co. the way we have. When we say we'll be there, you can trust that we will.
We can't promise that nothing unexpected will ever happen. But we can promise that we've built a business with the people, systems and support to deal with it when it does.
So yes, you are paying for a 15, 30, 45 or 60-minute visit, but you're also paying for the driving time, the fuel, the employment costs, the training, the technology, the care records, the team, the cover, the communication and all the work that happens behind the scenes to make that visit happen.
Most importantly, you're paying for the reassurance that while you're away, your cats are being cared for and you don't have to worry.
You really can't put a price on that peace of mind. ❤️
And ultimately, the reviews from the people who have trusted us with their cats and homes speak for themselves. 🐾
